CHEMICAL REACTIVITY:
BPD hydrolyzes very rapidly with water to form phenylphosphinic acid and phenylphosphine. The two
reactive chlorine atoms are capable of reacting with alcohols, phenols, and amines to form the corresponding
neutral esters. It fumes in the air.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
BPD and its derivatives are used as an intermediate to make plasticizers, antioxidants, stabilizers,
pesticides, catalysts and high pressure lubricant additives and in lacquer formulatings.
